Hot! Veterans Day 2012

ON THE 11thhour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918 the Allies and Germany reached an armistice that would end the Great War.

On the 11th day of the 11th month in 2012 illustrators join the millions of Americans who salute our troops throughout our history on Veterans Day .

To us in America, President Woodrow Wilson said to mark the first Armistice Day in 1919, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country s service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us, and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations.

TODAY, President Obama visited Arlington National Cemetery to honor America s veterans, Back in 1921, Congress established the cemetery s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the date of the ceremony is Nov. 11. The day is declared a holiday to honor all World War I veterans.
