Hot! Fiesta Bowl Nostalgia

EUGENE, Ore. With the whirlwind surrounding Chip Kelly s possible NFL move whipping around Eugene, many Duck fans were nostalgic about the last four consecutive BCS bowl appearances.

They showed it Saturday and Sunday as droves of fans bought Fiesta Bowl attire from the Duck Store.

On Sunday, University of Oregon freshman Eden Huebener combined her love of shopping with her newfound love of ducks football by buying some bowl gear.

It was the first time that I actually got into it, being a student. Last year I was like, oh football cool ," Huebener said. Everything s really clever, like the slogans on t-shirts it s just funny and witty."

Not to mention the shirts were 50% off, which had many Oregon fans swooping shirts off the shelves.

Eden s mom, Susan, also bought gear commemorating the Fiesta Bowl game that had her family glued to the TV set.

"I m supporting the university through my spending habits, said Susan Huebener. We love it. We love triggering that memory from year to year."

As employee Marija Boise said, the Duck Store offered up bowl game nostalgia, compliments of Nike.

They just come out with new designs - cool designs that everybody's excited for, every big game, Boise said.

KVAL News asked Boise if a don't go, Chip , shirt was in the works.

People will make their own shirts, for sure. It s hard to say if Nike will come out with something, they don't really tell us that kind thing in advance, said Boise.

While Boise said she doesn t know if Nike will release the shirt that could be one of the last issued with Chip as Oregon s head coach, many Duck fans would support the message.

Boise said that bowl game t-shirts are a popular seller, but more people come in to buy bowl game Christmas ornaments.
