The Fit Kids Ticket Giveaway is a part of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield s ongoing work with the Packers to raise awareness of the importance of healthy lifestyles and bring positive health messages to Wisconsin classrooms.
Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is committed to improving the lives of the people we serve and the health of Wisconsin communities, said Larry Schreiber, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin. We received essays and posters from all over the state and were thrilled to see so many fourth graders thinking about and practicing healthy lifestyles. Congratulations to the winners and to all the students who participated for being healthy habits role models to their friends and family members.
Fit Kids is a free, year-long fourth grade curriculum for schools in Wisconsin designed to promote healthy living by focusing on the physical, nutritional and social aspects of good health.
Currently in its ninth year, Fit Kids has been adopted by over 335 public school districts in the state, with thousands of students receiving the benefit of the successful curriculum. Within these districts, the program has been used by fourth-grade classroom teachers, physical education teachers and school nurses, and integrated into their lesson plans.
The Fit Kids curriculum explores a new health-focused topic each month, including: Get Together, Get Out, Get Fueled, Get Cooking, Get Moving, Get Bendy, Get Happy and Get Fit. Green Bay Packers players kick off each new section with a video encompassing the theme for that month and appear on various posters and program materials.
Parents, teachers and school district officials can learn more about Fit Kids and can register their classrooms by visiting the Fit Kids page on Packers.com (About Green Bay Packers Fit Kids presented by Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield
