With Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford and Panthers QB Cam Newton on their bye week I need a plug-and-play starter. What do you expect from Raiders new QB Carson Palmer this week against the Broncos? Also, is the newly acquired WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh a good fantasy option since he and Palmer played together in Cincinnati?Mike, Loveland
Lammey:I'll give Palmer a pass for his Week 7 performance against the Chiefs. He threw three interceptions and looked lost on the field after only being with the team for about a week. Now that he's had a bye week, in addition to a week of preparation, I expect Palmer to play much better.
Other than All-Pro CB Champ Bailey, the Broncos' secondary is weak. Any team watching film will know to pick on guys like Andre Goodman, Chris Harris and Jonathan Wilhite. This strategy could lead to big days from guys like TE Kevin Boss, WR Denarius Moore and even Houshmandzadeh.
He's not the same player he used to be, but the chemistry with Palmer will help. When Palmer is in trouble he'll look for targets he can trust, and Houshmandzadeh is that guy. I don't expect him to have a big fantasy day, but he's worth keeping on your waiver wire "speed dial" if he looks good catching passes from Palmer again.
Would you drop Browns WR Greg Little for Chiefs WR Jonathan Baldwin in non-PPR leagues?John, Aurora
Lammey:I'd do this deal John. The Browns' offense is struggling and QB Colt McCoy is especially struggling. Your league setup (non-PPR) makes the call Baldwin over Little, too. Little
is a very talented rookie WR because of his strength and run after the catch ability. With the Browns' inconsistencies on offense I can't trust him even as a flex play on most weeks. one-game suspension, so that makes Greene your other starter. Greene has improved his production over the last few weeks as the Jets are featuring their "ground-and-pound offense. I believe they will try to wear down the Bills by using Greene as a battering ram for the offense.
