Tennessee and Texas Players Win $1,000,000
There were three (3) $200,000 Match 5 + 0 winners in Saturday's drawing. The players matched all white Powerball numbers , but not the Power Ball number. The normal payout for second-tier prizes is $200,000. However, two (2) players - one each from Tennessee and Texas - purchased PowerPlay tickets for an extra $1 making them instant millionaires!
Another Match 5 + 0 Florida Powerball winner failed to purchase a PowerPlay ticket, and ended up with just $200,000. Had the lottery winner spent $1 extra, they would have been counting $1,000,000 as well!
There were also thrity-five (35) Match 4 + Powerball winners for $10,000 each. Four (4) of those players also purchased the PowerPlay option for $1, and when multiplied by the PowerPlay number for the night which happened to be X 4, instantly rewarded them with a total lottery prize of $40,000 instead. It pays to play the PowerPlay!
In addition to all the high-tier Powerball prizes, there were 677,327 smaller lottery prizes awarded ranging from $3 to 100.
